The Stewards interviewed riders D.P. McDonagh and J.A. Heffernan in the presence of the Clerk of the Course, Mr. B. Sheridan, concerning their reports to the Clerk of Scales that their mounts had slipped on the bend in this race. Having considered all the evidence and the recommendations from the riders and Clerk of the Course, the Stewards ordered that the starting stalls be moved to the right for the second race and that additional ground repairs take place in advance of the sixth race, however the situation would be reviewed after the running of the second race.
