I'm absolutely delighted. It's great to get my first Curragh winner and on Derby weekend it makes it a bit more special,. I'm delighted for Cathal (McGuckin). He's with us the last year-and-a-half and he's been a big supporter of mine. Myself and my father own half of him and Cathal rang me during the week and said was there any chance of switching him into his colours for the Curragh. We got all the paper-work done of Friday. He's been unlucky, I don't think he's been ungenuine. He got stuck four or five wide in Limerick the last day. The time before he got a little injury and he was very unlucky in Leopardstown where he was a fast finishing third. On ground like this we'll keep him going. He's in at Bellewstown on Wednesday so myself and Rory have a bit of a decision to make now because we have Dance Alone, him and Geological in it. If he doesn't go there he'll be out again quick enough as long as the ground stays quick. Hopefully we can get him on a bit of a run now. He's the type of horse that's handicapped to win two or three so fingers crossed he does. We're absolutely delighted and it's smiles all round. Damian Joseph English, trainer

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the final furlong and a half involving Beach Bar, ridden by W.M. Lordan, unplaced, War Hero, ridden by S.P. Davis, unplaced, Ice Cold In Alex, ridden by S. Foley, placed sixth, Korbous, ridden by Y. Nonaka, unplaced, Kailee, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed second and Red Avenger (USA), ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed first, where it appeared that Kailee and Ice Cold in Alex were tight for room

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference caused did not effect the Judge's placings, and they therefore made no alteration. The Stewards did, however, consider C.D. Hayes to be in breach of Rule 214, in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his particularly good record in this regard, suspended him for 1 raceday

S.P. Davis, rider of War Hero trained by P.J.Prendergast, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount received a bump in the closing stages and became unbalanced

S. Foley, rider of Ice Cold In Alex trained by K.J. Condon, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was tight for room

C.D. Hayes, rider of Kailee trained by W.T. Farrell, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered in the closing stages.

An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards rated 60-90
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won.
