Permission was given for Zapper Cass (FR) to go early to post.

Pink Flamingo (GB), drawn 7, and Reflektor (IRE), drawn 6, both anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.

Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.

Upon leaving the stalls, Foxy Forever (IRE), drawn 10, placed second, jumped awkwardly and shifted left-handed hampering Tathmeen (IRE), drawn 9, placed sixth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Foxy Forever (IRE).

An enquiry was held into the possible faulty action of stall 8 in this race resulting in the left gate being slow to open.

Lewis Edmunds, the rider of Dynamo Walt (IRE), placed third, drawn in stall 8, the Starter and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.

Edmunds stated that he was unaware that the gate was slow to open at the time and as Dynamo Walt (IRE) had broken well he therefore did not feel that this adversely affected the gelding’s performance.

The Starters confirmed that checks had been performed prior to each of the races up to and including this race and had no concerns.

In addition, the Clerk of the Course reported that the stalls are serviced regularly and being satisfied that the correct procedures had been followed, the Stewards noted their explanations.

Following the race, Luke Morris reported that Scale Force (GB), placed fifth, hung badly left-handed and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
