The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Poets Mountain, ridden and trained by Denis Gerard Hogan

Evidence was heard from Mr. Hogan, who stated that his intentions going out were to drop his mount out as it was off the track for a long time, give it a chance early and to get it to finish out its race well. He said his mount was a very moderate type that was out paced from the fourth last and that the animal had no more to give in the closing stages. He said his mount leaned slightly left through out but was of the opinion that this had not caused him to loose any ground. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, who stated that Poets Voice was found to be post race normal. Samples were taken for further analysis

Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanation offered

They did, however, remind Mr. Hogan of his responsibilities to be seen to make reasonable and timely efforts to achieve the best possible finishing position.
