The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer, Dr Graham Adams examined Longhouse Poet (IRE), trained by Martin Brassil, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal

However Dr Graham Adams reported to the stewards that on inspecting Longhouse Poet he noticed what appeared to be a vene puncture of the left jugular vein with fresh blood that had not been seen when the animal was presented for inspection and microchip scanning prior to racing. Evidence was heard from Dr Graham Adams and from Mr. Brassil. Mr. Brassil stated that Duphalyte was administered to the animal the previous evening by their own Veterinary Surgeon, which accounted for the puncture wound. Dr Graham Adams stated that in his Veterinary opinion, the wound appeared to be more recent. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given but ordered that a full post race sample be taken from Longhouse Poet for further analysis.
