An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Global Storm (IRE), ridden by Cieren Fallon, interfered with Selecto (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Thomas Greatrex.
The interference was found to be accidental as Global Storm (IRE) drifted left despite the rider’s efforts to correct it, causing Selecto (GB) to be checked.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner, Global Storm (IRE), ridden by Cieren Fallon, interfered with IT’S GOOD TO LAUGH (IRE), placed second, ridden by Adam Kirby; which was beaten by 2 lengths.
As the interference occurred shortly before the line when Global Storm (IRE) was half a length in front of IT’S GOOD TO LAUGH (IRE), the Stewards could not be satisfied that the interference had improved the placing of Global Storm (IRE) and therefore left the placings unaltered.
Fallon was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to hang left without sufficient or timely correction causing Kirby to stop riding on IT’S GOOD TO LAUGH (IRE).
Following the race, Cieren Fallon reported that the winner, Global Storm (IRE), hung left; Adam Kirby reported that IT’S GOOD TO LAUGH (IRE), placed second, suffered interference on the run to the line and Thomas Greatrex reported that Selecto (GB), placed fifth, suffered interference.
