An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong resulting in the fall of Paul Hanagan the rider of Requinto Dawn (IRE).
Cam Hardie, the rider of Ghathanfar (IRE), unplaced, and Ben Curtis, the rider of Kupa River (IRE), placed third, were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, but Hanagan was unable to be interviewed as he was being assessed by the Medical Team.
Having heard their evidence, it was found that the incident was accidental and was caused by Ghathanfar (IRE) edging slightly right at the same time as Kupa River (IRE) moved into a legitimate gap, causing Kupa River to have to be eased slightly and in doing so caused Requinto Dawn (IRE) to clip a heel and fall.
Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that Ghathanfar (IRE), unplaced, ran too free and hung right.
