Approximately half a furlong out, First Officer (IRE), placed fourth, edged slightly right-handed, causing a weakening Tarbaan (IRE), unplaced, to become short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of First Officer (IRE).
Following the race, George Bass reported that Party Island (IRE), unplaced, was continually denied a clear run from 2 furlongs out and Sorin Moldoveanu reported that First Officer (IRE), placed fourth, hung right-handed.
