The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Falak, ridden by B.J

Geraghty, placed first and Whatsafellatodo, ridden by L.P. Gilligan, placed second, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action

The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the late arrival of P. Townend, the declared rider of Kolumbus, and D.E. Mullins, the declared rider of St Gallen necessitating the respective change of riders. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that the riders were in breach of Rules 196(i) and 196(v), in that they failed to present themselves to weigh out at the required time. Having considered their records in this regard, the Stewards fined P. Townend ?200 and fined D.E

A.E. Lynch, rider of Wat Tyler (GB) trained by Donal Kinsella, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made a noise in running

The Stewards enquired into the running and riding of Kolumbus, ridden by D.F. O'Regan, and trained by W.P

Mullins. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer's authorised representative, Mr D. Porter. D.F. O' Regan stated that his instructions were to sit in second place, to take the lead when he could, and that if he kept him jumping well he should have enough to win. D.F. O' Regan further stated that he had achieved his best possible finishing position, he pushed on to win from five furlongs out, but was well beaten by the first and second horses

Mr. D. Porter confirmed the instructions given to D.F. O' Regan and added that on endoscopic examination post race Kolumbus had burst a blood vessel. The Stewards also received a report from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer who confirmed that Kolumbus had burst a blood vessel. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards noted the explanations offered and took no further action.
