Permission was given for Bescaby (GB) to be led early to post.
Theodore Ladd, the rider of Bescaby (GB) was unseated shortly after the start.
Ladd was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that no other horse or rider was involved and was caused by the mare shifting left-handed shortly after the start and stumbling, causing Ladd to be unseated.
The Stewards noted that the riderless Bescaby (GB), ran out entering the back straight badly hampering Air Of York (IRE), placed fourth, which in turn carried Dodgy Bob (GB), unplaced, off its intended line.
Following the race, Harry Russell reported that Dodgy Bob (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Peters Pudding (IRE), unplaced, lost his left-fore shoe.
