Permission was given for Carnival Zain (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Approximately 1 furlong out, the winner Carnival Zain (GB) lugged slightly right-handed briefly hampering Mercurius Power (IRE), placed fifth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Carnival Zain (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving Last Hoorah (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Miss Brodie Hampson, and Eeetee (IRE), placed second, ridden by Miss Alice Keighley.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Amateur, Keighley was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Keighley had obtained a tight but legitimate gap to the inside of Last Hoorah (GB) up the cutaway rail, before Hampson had then edged slightly left-handed bumping with Eeetee (IRE), resulting in both runners briefly becoming unbalanced.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the ½ furlong marker involving Mercurius Power (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Miss Molly Landau, Last Hoorah (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Miss Brodie Hampson, and Gabrial The Wire (GB), placed sixth, ridden by Miss Fern O’Brien.
Being 7Ib Claiming Amateur’s, both Landau and O’Brien were offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Landau and Hampson were both cautioned for careless riding in that they were slow to correct their mounts from drifting left and right-handed respectively resulting in Gabrial The Wire (GB) becoming tight for room and forcing O’Brien to take a slight check.
