HIGH COURT DRAMA (6/1 to 4/1) attracted some support here and did it well. Willie Supple's mount loomed up travelling well two furlongs out and soon hit the front.

He had to get serious when pressed by Fay Street in the final furlong but stuck to his guns well. The colt had run a blinder at a big price on his debut when second at the Curragh last August before disappointing in very testing conditions at Roscommon.

"The ground at Roscommon didn't suit him ? there is a big difference between soft at the Curragh and heavy at Roscommon!" commented winning trainer Paul Deegan.

20/1 shot Fay Street emerged with plenty of credit considering how freely he raced throughout. He threw down a strong challenge in the final furlong and should definitely be up to landing a similar maiden.

English raider Cathedral Walk raced prominently throughout but had no more to offer inside the final furlong while Leo's Pride ran a sound race in fourth without posing a threat.

The big disappointment was favourite Arizona John (7/4) who had been well supported in the morning from 3/1 to as low as 5/4.

He was asked for an effort a furlong-and-a-half out but the response wasn't forthcoming and Fran Berry stood up on his mount in the final furlong.

Ros Cuire was making some headway from the back when badly hampered by the leftwards lunge of Porto Santana a furlong-and-a-half out and may have finished closer with a clear passage.
