Permission was given for Thunder Blue (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and Land Of Magic (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Knebworth (GB), ridden by Ethan Jones, interfered with Capote's Dream (IRE), placed second, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Knebworth (GB)’s placing as although the gelding had drifted left-handed inside the final furlong, Capote's Dream (IRE) appeared to suffer no loss of momentum despite being carried off its intended line, nor did De Sousa have to stop riding his mount, with the distance at the line a neck.
Jones was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction, causing Capote's Dream (IRE) to be carried off its intended line.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Cajetan (GB), placed fourth, lost its right-fore shoe.
