An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after several runners had appeared to take the wrong course in the back straight by going to the outside of an isolated section of railings at the 2mile 4furlong start.
All riders were interviewed along with the Clerk of the Course and shown recordings of the incident.
Their explanations were noted that all the riders had walked the course with a BHA Jockey Coach and there were no markers on the railing to denote the hurdle course, and it was also not visible on the Course Map.
The Stewards ordered that the result was to remain unaltered, and no penalties were to be imposed on any rider.
They forwarded a report to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, Kai Lenihan reported that Design Icon (GB), unplaced, was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that Turnaway (IRE), unplaced, lost both of its front shoes.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Lord Bill (IRE), unplaced, was lame on its right fore.
