Harbour Storm (GB), trained by Robyn Brisland, had entered the Parade Ring after the signal to mount had been given.
After being interviewed, Brisland was fined £140.
The winner, Fred (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 7 January 2021 where the gelding finished seventh of eight, beaten by 26 lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Mark Johnston could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Fred (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Kieran O'Neill reported that Harbour Storm (GB), placed fifth, ran fresh; Shane Kelly reported that Mamillius (GB), which started favourite and finished fourth, hung left-handed throughout and Hollie Doyle reported that Iconic Knight (IRE), which started second favourite and finished third, hung both ways.
