Permission was given for Miss Connaisseur (GB), to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
Approximately 1 furlong out, Embla (GB), placed fifth, edged quickly right-handed causing Western Melody (IRE), placed sixth, to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Embla (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong, when Crocodile Power (IRE), placed second, ridden by Billy Garritty interfered with Reclaim Victory (IRE), placed third, ridden by Harry Russell.
Garritty was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his horse to drift right-handed without sufficient correction and causing Russell to take a slight check.
The performance of Emerald Lady (IRE), which finished ninth of ten runners, was considered.
The representative of Karl Burke could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance, on this occasion.
The Veterinary Officer reported that, a post race examination of Emerald Lady (IRE), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Aiden Brookes reported that Western Melody (IRE), placed sixth, was denied a clear run and the Veterinary Officer reported that, the filly lost its left-hind shoe.
