he was 100 per cent today and he did it well, he stayed well and he jumped and travelled. I always thought I was getting there - when he met the rising ground he stayed all the way to the line. Some of his earlier runs were very good behind some nice horses. He might have just lost his way towards the end of last season. He seems to have found his stride again now. Noel (Meade) was confident - conditions were perfect for him.

I'm delighted with him. The good gallop suited him and he'll go a little further probably. He'll probably run in a handicap at some stage but I think his next run will probably be over hurdles. He's not over-big and that's sort of why we went back to the Flat. We thought after his last run that he could win a maiden. He wasn't far behind the favourite the last day. Nina (Carberry) said when she won a bumper on him that he doesn't like being hit. I said it to Colin and he didn't, he said you're probably right and it was a help. He'll jump fences in time too, he's big enough to do that. He's not huge but he's big enough to do that.

She said he (Roseriver Has) found more when she put the whip down: I’ll have to see it again but she said he was curling up a little bit when she hit him. The lad (Cask Mate) won very easily yesterday and I thought this was near enough the same sort of horse although I was a shade worried about the ground. He's not too big but he jumps well and will go jumping now.
