I said to Danny the main thing was to get him switched off and he did that over the first three furlongs. Then he had to work his way through the field which he did and used his speed to great effect. He stayed on nicely at the end which means he’ll probably stay a bit further. His maidens were run too slow and he was just running too free. A change of tactics worked the oracle in Naas and it was much easier then coming here to ride him like that. He’s learning all the time. He might come here Saturday but probably not. He could be a Galway Hurdle horse and will go back on the Flat.

I’m so thankful to Willie and his team, to Harold (Kirk) for buying the mare and for everyone’s advice. I’m just so lucky. I didn’t ride for four years. I had a family, came out of retirement and this was the dream. I was going to try and jump out and be handy, but the mare was looking a bit left and I missed the kick. I said I’ve got to relax now, and Willie said to try and find your way through. I edged out coming down the hill and it’s amazing when you ride horses for Willie how fit they are. It’s like you have Mo Farah in the last furlong!. To say the least!. David asked me to look out for a horse for him to ride in this race, to try and win it, and that was two years ago. I thought David had retired in the meantime but obviously he had come back and ridden a few. He rides out with Gary Moore to stay fit. He actually never sat on her before, he was supposed to come over and ride her out and never did. It's tremendous. David was champion Fegentri rider, which is European champion amateur rider, a few years back. He's a fitness fanatic and keeps himself very fit. He bought a horse and put it in with Gary Moore, he's had a few rides this year. Race riding would get you race fit. I thought it was an extraordinary achievement. I'm delighted for him. Yokkell is super and would nearly make you emotional. She's just very genuine and very tough. She's a winner. A mile-and-a-half is probably her trip and that extended 1m2f is just long enough. She doesn't owe us anything but you wouldn't know where she could end up on Good Friday, maybe at Newcastle. Hopefully, she can't be hit too hard by the handicapper. Siobhan gets on very well with her and gave her a peach of a ride just in behind the leaders. I think she knew from halfway down the straight she was going to get up. They are a very good team.

He needs that trip and he needs a good gallop,. We thought we were a good thing coming up with all the rain, and then five minutes outside Sligo it was as dry as a bone!. Soft ground is the key to him and he just about got away with it today. It was too quick for him the last day in Gowran and he never got into the race. He's very tough and he will stay further. I'd say two miles might be his trip in the end. We have him schooled and the plan was to go three-year-old hurdling with him, but when he's still competitive on the Flat we'll stay that way with him. It's a bit easier and I'll try and hold off getting the jumps licence for another bit!

she has obviously improved from the first day when she was very green and I'm delighted with the way she picked up and quickened away. I thought if she ran well here that she might win a summer bumper, so I'm delighted. It's the owners' (Best of the Rest Syndicate) first horse with me and they only bought her since she finished second the last day so they're off to a good start. That winner went on and won at Fairyhouse and I thought Sixandahalf improved plenty from that run. I thought she'd run a big race but then I came into the parade ring and looked at all these fine big horses and she is quite small. He was very good. He had a nice run in the maiden in Galway, I thought he'd run a nice race here today but I didn't expect him to go and win like that,. He's a grand horse to look forward to for the winter and he'll go hurdling. He won't run on the Flat again this season but that could get him into a nice handicap somewhere along the way next year. His next port of call will be a maiden hurdle. He floated around there and Gary said it felt like good ground on him so he shouldn't have any problem with winter ground.
