Ruby Cottage (IRE) unseated its rider on the way to post and cantered loose for a short distance.
Having been examined by the doctor and Veterinary Surgeon at the start, both the rider and filly were deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to determine the reason for the late arrival of the Veterinary Surgeon at the start for this race.
The Veterinary Surgeon and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed.
The Veterinary Surgeon explained that he had been on his way to the start when Ruby Cottage (IRE) had got loose, whereupon he had stopped to ascertain the filly’s location, by which time Ruby Cottage (IRE) had cantered past the stalls.
He further explained that having located the filly which had by now been caught behind the stalls he had made his way to the start as quickly as possible.
His explanation was noted.
