- Stewards Report
An enquiry was held following a report from the Veterinary Officer that an employee of Charlie Longsdon, the trainer of Western Miller (IRE), discovered horse feed from a previous meeting in Box 60 in the Racecourse Stables.
The representative of Charlie Longsdon, the Stable Manager, the Veterinary Officer, and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed.
The Veterinary Officer was satisfied that the food present was normal horse feed and the Stewards, being satisfied that Western Miller (IRE) had received only normal food and water by mouth on the day of racing, allowed the gelding to run.
Western Miller (IRE) was routine tested.
A report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
The Stewards noted that Tommy Silver (FR) was carried out by Gardefort (FR), which unseated its rider at the third last fence.
Following the race Jonathan Burke reported that Western Miller (IRE), which was pulled up, jumped poorly and the Veterinary Officer reported that Henryville (GB), which was pulled up, bled from the nose.
