An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Racingbreaks Ryder (IRE), ridden by Andrea Atzeni and Supreme King (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sean Levey.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Racingbreaks Ryder (IRE)’s placing as, although RACINGSBREAKS RYDER (IRE) had shifted left- handed giving a small nudge to Supreme King (IRE) shortly before the line, the latter never lost any momentum and appeared to be held, being beaten by a short head.
The interference was found to be accidental as Racingbreaks Ryder (IRE) had lugged left-handed off a true line despite the rider’s best efforts to prevent the colt from doing so.
The performance of Woodstock (GB) which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Jack Channon’s explanation that the colt was unsuited by the going on this occasion, officially described as Soft, and would benefit from a quicker surface was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Woodstock (GB) during routine testing revealed that the colt had lost a left-hind shoe.
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that Just Bring It (IRE), unplaced, never travelled and the representative of Clive Cox further added that the gelding was unsuited by the going on this occasion, officially described as Soft, and would benefit from a quicker surface.
