A sterling effort from Notable D'Estruval and his partner Philip Carberry as they got up in the shadow of the post to deny what looked a certain victory for British raider Bishop's Bridge.

The Arthur Moore-trained gelding, who would probably like the ground a bit softer, appeared in big trouble when ridden along in sixth entering the straight. He still seemed set for minor placings jumping the last but dug really deep on the run-in, coming between Justpourit and Bishop's Bridge to snatch an unlikely win.

Emma Lavelle's charge appreciates decent ground and, after landing in front three out, was unfortunate to just get 'mugged' in the closing strides.

Justpourit is a frustrating sort to follow as he always appears to keep a bit for himself as is far from an easy ride, while last year's Galway Plate hero Sir Frederick disappointed after a lay-off in the Irish Grand National but was much better here. He kept on under pressure into fourth without threatening the leaders and should play a major role in the big Festival meeting handicap chases this summer.

Ballyagran was never far from the leading ground but found little under pressure in the straight, while Oedipe made a couple of mistakes and dropped away approaching three out.
