I don't know how he came down in price as he surprised me. His owner had a winner the other day so maybe it had something to do with it but stepping up in trip helped,. He wasn't declared to run here in the original race on Sunday as the ground was so holding. The dry few days helped but it was still actually the toss of a coin whether or not he'd run yesterday morning at declaration time. He'll go for another handicap now.

The Stewards enquired into the apparent improvement in form of Ballinabearna (GB), trained by Robert Tyner, placed, first compared with its recent form. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he was surprised with todays win. He also thought the step up in trip in a lessor race may have helped his charge. Evidence was also heard from Mr. S. Quinn, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board National Hunt Handicapper, who stated that todays win represented a significant improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the explanation.
