An ordinary handicap chase produced a cracking finish with Prince Massini battling gamely to land the spoils.

The winner, held up early, moved closer four out and was on the heels of the leaders after the third last. He threw down his challenge two out and soon led.

He was strongly pressed by Ben Adam on the run-in but was always pulling out a little bit extra to edge the verdict.

The runner-up had made ground up quickly before the fourth last. He was disputing three out but looked to have no more to offer before the second last.

He started to stay on again running to the last, however, and made the winner work hard on the run-in.

Five jumped the last in with chances and Lemonfield looked to be picking up plenty of momentum.

He was a moderate fifth two out but started to stay on well running to the last. He could find no extra close home.

Aghawonan had taken over five from home and battled on gamely when headed before the third last to remain up there. He just faded on the run-in.

Robertstown Rover, a winner on her last visit here, came to take it up before the third last but was headed after two out and had no more to offer running to the last.
