He had won two point to points and is a tough horse. He is big, loves that ground and will run on the track (in handicap chases) eventually,. His two point to point wins were in Comea (local track) which was a big thing as his owners Aidan and Susan Archdeacon are from Fethard and are good friends of ours for years. The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr L.P. Shanahan, rider of Ryehill, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr L.P. Shanahan accepted he was in breach of the whip Regulation. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied Mr. L.P. Shanahan was in breach of R.10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record in this regard(first offence), they suspended him for one raceday

Miss S. Doyle, rider of Cicero Grimes, trained by P.M.J.Doyle, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that her mount made a noise

The Raceday Stewards received a report from Mr. P.L. Malone, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr D.M. Fitzgerald, rider of Carrig Wells, weighed in at two pounds overweight

Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had declared the possible two pounds overweight but didn't use it. He then had a drink of water which put him over. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr D.M. Fitzgerald was in breach of Rule 231 and having taken his previous record into account they suspended him for two racedays

Owing to ground conditions, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for for fence number three to be omitted from race two

A steeplechase for ] Certified Hunters five years old and upwards that have not won a race, including races under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing, and that have between 19th September, 2020 and 28th February, 2024 been placed either first, second, third or fourth in a Point To-Point Steeplechase in Ireland or second, third or fourth in a Certified Hunters Steeplechase in Ireland
