He had plenty of nice work done at home and ran in a couple of point to points but is ground-dependent. He got his ground today, skipped away and jumped a miller,. I ran him in this because he is handicapped over hurdles but weren't any suitable races coming up. I thought this fitted in grand. I don't know what the plan is but I could mix it away between chases and hurdles with him. Once the ground is reasonable, we'll keep going. Sean Aherne, trainer

The Stewards interviewed Mr T.J. Love, rider of Michael's Pick, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3(g) in that he had used his whip with excessive frequency and having taken his record into account cautioned him on this occasion
