We had to step her up in grade to see what we had and while it is very hard to judge English and Irish form especially at this time of year but she was very impressive. She was well able to hold her own though and we can now go home and start making proper plans. She doesn't mind that ground, will handle slow ground so it's onwards and upwards. She is very straightforward and genuine and while she doesn't really need cheekpieces on, I'm afraid to take them off at this stage as she hasn't put a foot wrong. She is a very good mare and we'll target some of the big races in the autumn and next spring now. It's a while since I was last in Galway but this place has been good to me and she has to be my most impressive winner here. I am mostly a flat trainer but we love to have a few jumpers as it keeps us busy during the winter and this is one we will really look forward to. You always feel vulnerable coming back over taking on Willie (Mullins) and Gordon (Elliott) and the lads, so there was a lot of satisfaction in this. P. Townend, rider of Gaucher (GB), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran too free

R.A. Doyle, rider of Evening's Empire, trained by Eddie & Patrick Harty, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left and jumped left

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Al Gasparo (FR), trained by Gavin Cromwell, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P. L. Malone, that R.A. Doyle, rider of Evening's Empire, had weighed in 1.7lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was doing light and had taken on too much fluids after weighing out, having also had a run on the track. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that R. A. Doyle was in breach of Rule 231(iii) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended R. A. Doyle for two racedays.
