An enquiry was held to consider interference leaving the final bend involving Achillea (GB), placed second, ridden by David Probert and Raintown (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Josephine Gordon.
Probert was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed when insufficiently clear of Raintown (IRE) causing Gordon to take a slight check on Raintown (IRE).
The winner, Epsom Faithfull (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 14 October 2024 where the mare finished last of ten runners, beaten by 6½ lengths.
Pat Phelan’s explanation that Epsom Faithfull (GB) had appreciated the return to Lingfield, a track where the mare has previously ran well in addition to benefitting from the step up in trip to 1 mile 2 furlongs, was noted.
Epsom Faithfull (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Warren Fentiman reported that Up The Jazz (IRE), unplaced, ran too freely.
