ARBOR SUPREME looked different class to these rivals beforehand and ultimately justified odds of 4/9 in convincing fashion. The Willie Mullins-trained gelding has gained plenty of experience already over fences having made the frame on his previous two outings in long distance handicaps, and the six-year-old enjoyed this drop in class. He had taken control before hitting the final fence but stretched clear on the run-in without being asked a serious question by Ruby Walsh.
TASMAN jumped well on his first chase start and probably got a bit tired from two out as an absence of 11 months began to tell. He's shown a liking for cut in the ground and should be placed to win over fences in the coming weeks.
SUMMER SEEDS gave cause for encouragement. Part of a group of five horses that drew clear of the remainder from three out, he kept on well in the straight to deny BEN ADAM third spot. The latter's rider picked up a two day ban for using his whip with excessive force and frequency
BONNE NOEL'S dropped out quickly before the straight. A fair sort over hurdles, he is entitled to get a mark over fences now and is one to keep in mind on better ground over the summer at around this trip. HOW IS IT GOING led for a good part of the race but was weakening when he pecked badly on landing three out. COLMANSTOWN HOPE burst a blood vessel.
