Richard Hannon had obtained prior permission from the BHA to run Magical Wish (IRE) partially shod.
Muntadab (IRE), trained by Roger Fell, finished unplaced at Musselburgh the previous day.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a pre-race examination deemed the gelding fit to race.
The winner, Tomfre (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Newmarket on 26 September 2020 where the colt finished last of eight runners, beaten by 8¾ lengths.
The representative of Ralph Beckett’s explanation that Tomfre (GB) had appreciated the softer going, which was officially described as Heavy, Soft in places on this occasion, was noted.
Tomfre (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Cold Stare (IRE), unplaced, revealed the gelding to have an irregular heartbeat.
