On the run to the line, Willing To Please (GB), placed third, edged right-handed at the same time as Brazen Diamond (GB), placed second, drifted slightly left-handed preventing the rider of Audit (IRE), placed fourth, from being able to ride out to the line due to taking a precautionary check.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of either Willing To Please (GB) or Brazen Diamond (GB).
The winner, Local Bay (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Brighton on 12 September 2022 where the colt finished ninth of twelve runners beaten 7¾ lengths.
The representative of Tony Carroll's explanation that Local Bay (GB) had benefitted from the reapplication of a tongue strap and a return to Wolverhampton, where the colt had previously run well, was noted.
Local Bay (GB) was routine tested.
