The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.W. Murtagh, regarding the failure of S.A

Mulcahy, rider of Generator City, placed fifth, to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was not aware of his finishing place and he admitted that he did not confirm with the Clerk of Scales if he was required to weigh in. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that S.A. Mulcahy was in breach of Rule 227 (i), in that he failed to weigh in, and having considered his record in this regard suspended him for 2 racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee. Under Rule 230 (ii), the Stewards disqualified Generator City from fifth place. The amended result now reads: First, Stacks Mountain Second, Poker D' ainay Third, Behind the Curtain Fourth, Our Dark Horse Fifth, My Lady Rose.
