Permission was given for Glimpse Of Gold (GB) to go early to post and to be mounted on the track.
An enquiry was held to consider why Charlotte Jones, the rider of Golden Town (IRE), appeared slow to ease her mount having pulled up prior to the second last flight.
The rider was interviewed and shown recordings of the concluding stages of the race.
Jones explained that she felt Golden Town (IRE) lost its action at the top of the hill (a fact which Jones reported at Scales) and felt prudent to pull up.
She further stated that when running down hill on the better ground and feeling the presence of the horses in rear continuing in the race, the gelding came back onto the bridle and proved difficult to fully pull up.
Jones’ explanation was noted.
Following the race, Charlotte Jones reported that Golden Town (IRE), which was pulled up, had lost its action; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Lord Caprio (IRE), unplaced, finished lame right- fore.
