Permission was given for Andapa (FR) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
Belle Na Bann (IRE), trained by Neil Mulholland, was late in the Parade Ring due to the mare’s girth having to be replaced.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Belle Na Bann (IRE), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
Neil Mulholland explained that the mare had been hampered at the first hurdle on its previous run and thereafter had been ridden more prominently and as a result had weakened in the latter stages, whereas the race had been run to suit at a generous pace and the mare had experienced a trouble-free passage on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Belle Na Bann (IRE) was routine tested.
