Permission was given for Girl From Ipanema (IRE), Maylah (IRE) and Nacho (IRE) to go early to post.

Miss Serena Brotherton, the rider of Mutabaahy (IRE), drawn 6, was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in her horse being very slowly away.

Miss Brotherton’s explanation that the blindfold had become stuck on the hood and required two attempts to remove was noted.

Approaching the final furlong, Glorious Charmer (GB), unplaced, edged slightly left-handed tightening Nacho (IRE), unplaced, for room which in turn caused Mutabaahy (IRE), placed sixth, to be carried off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong when the winner, Silver Dollar (IRE), ridden by Mr George Eddery, interfered with Deevious Beau (GB), placed second, ridden by Miss A M Keighley, who in turn interfered with Country Charm (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Mr Henry Main.

Being a 7lb claiming amateur, Miss Keighley was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.

Mr Eddery was suspended for 2 days, on dates to be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority, for careless riding as he had made insufficient effort to correct his mount from hanging left-handed across the running of Deevious Beau (GB) causing Miss Keighley to take a check and in turn briefly crowd Country Charm (GB) for racing room.

Following the race, Mr Ross Birkett reported that Glorious Charmer (GB), unplaced, ran flat.
