An enquiry was held into the running and riding of ACLASSAGOLD (IRE), ridden by Nick Scholfield and trained by Deborah Faulkner, which, after being hampered on the bend turning out of the back straight, appeared to be tenderly ridden in the home straight to finish eighth beaten 52 ½ lengths. The rider and the trainer's representative were interviewed and shown recordings of the race. The rider stated that his instructions were to sit middle to back, get the gelding jumping and travelling and keep him on the bridle for as long as possible as he tends to find very ittle off the bridle. He stated he was happy with his position until he was hampered and having given him a push turning into the home straight he felt ACLASSAGOLD (IRE) had nothing more to give. The trainer's representative confirmed the instructions and stated that ACLASSAGOLD (IRE) is very keen at home and has been in his previous races. Their explanations were noted,
