Oisin Murphy, the rider of Salsoul (IRE), placed sixth, had appeared to ride less vigorously shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Murphy’s explanation that the filly had no more to give in the final ½ furlong so he decided to give Salsoul (IRE) a hands and heels ride to the line was noted.
