Permission was given for Mellys Flyer (GB) to go to post early, for Perfect Sign (IRE) to go to post early and mount in the chute, for Equitation (GB) to mount in the chute and for Dewey Road (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Inside the final furlong, Tyger Bay (GB), placed second, shifted quickly right, before being corrected causing Dewey Road (IRE), placed fourth, to take a slight check but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of THE BLUE POWER (IRE) which finished last of eight runners, beaten 13 ½ lengths was considered.
The trainers representative could offer no explanation other than Tyler Saunders reporting that THE BLUE POWER (IRE) was slow away and never travelled.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of THE BLUE POWER (IRE), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
