Veracious (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start and was also given permission to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.

Rasima (GB) spread a plate on the way to the start and had to be re-shod, causing a delay to the start of this race.

Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Rasima (GB), placed fifth, lost its right fore shoe.

An enquiry was held into the delay of the start time of this race due to the re-plating of Rasima (GB).

The Veterinary Officer, Senior Farrier, Clerk of the Course and the Starters were interviewed.

Having heard their evidence it was noted that the filly was proving difficult to re-plate.

The Starters stated that the runners arrived late at the start two minutes after the advertised start time and the re-plating had taken approximately 11 minutes.

The Starters further reported that the remaining runners were settled and that the other jockeys were unconcerned about the delay.

It was further noted that the same plate came adrift almost immediately upon leaving the stalls.

A report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.
