It's Seanie's time of year!†. Seven furlongs seems his trip but tactically not and ideally it's six furlongs for him. He ran really well at Leopardstown and that was a good run and I was delighted with Killian (Leonard) and he is very very good value for his 10 pounds claim. It was his first ride for me.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. P.W. Murtagh, Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.M. Melia, rider of Shabra Emperor, trained by Anthony McCann, had presented himself to weigh out at 2 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider and trainer concerned. Having considered the report and the evidence, the Stewards allowed D.M. Melia to ride at 2 Ibs overweight but were satisfied that the rider was in breach of both Rule 195(i)(c) and Rule 198(vii). Having considered his previous good record in this regard, the Stewards fined him ?150.
