The winner, Forceful Speed (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Pontefract on 22 April 2024 where the gelding finished sixth of nine, beaten 18 lengths on ground officially described as Soft, Heavy in places.
George Boughey’s representative’s explanation that the gelding appreciated the return to quicker ground conditions, officially described as Good to Firm, Good in places, was noted.
