The Stewards requested a report from John James Feane, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Prince Connoisseur, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that a combination of a drop back in class and a liking for todays track, had in his opinion, brought about todays improved performance. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanation offered.
