The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Free Nelson (GB), trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal

The Stewards interviewed Mr J.W. Hendrick, rider of Imperial Lord, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence Mr J.W. Hendrick stated that his mount ran green and he was trying to keep him straight. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr J.W. Hendrick was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr J.W. Hendrick for one raceday

Mr J.J. Codd, rider of Free Nelson (GB) trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount cut out badly
