Permission was given for Great News (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The performance of Nigel Nott (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
Michael Appleby’s representative could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than a report from the rider that Nigel Nott (GB) was restless in the stalls and never travelling thereafter was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Nigel Nott (GB), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The winner Trumble (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Chester on the 25th June 2021 where the gelding finished fifth of six runners, beaten 18 ½ lengths.
David Loughnane’s representative explanation that the gelding was suited by the return to the All Weather and to Chelmsford where the gelding has previously won at was noted; Trumble (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, George Rooke reported that Crimson Sand (IRE), placed fourth, was slowly away and was never travelling thereafter.
