Being satisfied that this was due to the gelding being difficult to saddle, no further action was taken.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly before the first bend when Cash N Carrie (IRE), placed second, ridden by Theodore Ladd, interfered with Pike Corner Cross (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Cameron Iles.
Being a 7Ib claimer, Iles was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Ladd was suspended for 2 days for careless riding for allowing his mount to drift left- handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of Pike Corner Cross (IRE) causing Iles to have to take a check off the rails.
The performance of Born To Reason (IRE), which started second favourite and finished last of the twelve runners, was considered.
The representative of Alexandra Dunn could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than the rider reported that Born To Reason (IRE), stopped quickly.

Following the race, the Veterinary Officer further reported that Compass Point (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was lame on its right fore after the race.
