The Stewards interviewed R.P. Cleary, rider of Never Again, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used the whip with excessive force and frequency and having considered his record, suspended him for four race days. The Stewards interviewed M.C. Hussey, rider of Extreme Appeal, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f), in that he used his whip with excessive frequency, and having considered his record, suspended him for one race day.

An extended handicap for three yrs old only (75 = 9st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 10lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 75 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 75 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
