The Stewards interviewed P.J. Smullen, rider of Postulation (USA), concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(e), in that he hit the horse other than down the shoulder or on the hind quarters and having considered his record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.

For three yrs old only which at entry, are rated 95 or less
Weights - 9st 2lb
Penalties - Performances before March 31st for every 1lb above the rating of 90 1lb extra; On or after March 31st for each race won 5lb extra; Horses that have not run three times and/or do not have a published handicap rating are eligible to enter and run at the discretion of the handicapper.
