An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong when Archaeology (GB), placed second, ridden by Jack Garrity interfered with Mosakhar (GB), unplaced, ridden by Ben Robinson, which in turn interfered with Fennaan (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Rowan Scott.
Garrity was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he switched his mount right-handed in search of a run when not quite clear of Mosakhar (GB), resulting in Robinson having to ease, which in turn took Scott slightly off his intended line.
The performance of Spiorad (IRE) which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of David O’Meara could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination Spiorad (IRE) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
