Brave Right deserved a big race win having been denied late in the valuable Pierce Hurdle at Leopardstown in January. The gelding travels extremely well in his races, but just like at Leopardstown, tied up in the closing stages and was all out to hold on. Brave Right, who failed to win in five bumper starts, seems to be improving and will pay his way over the summer, when he may go back chasing.

Ring The Boss won five consecutive hurdles last year and finished well for second. He appears to stay well and will take beating in future handicaps.

Jayo ran a cracker in second and will hold sound claims in similar Festival handicaps while Lyceum and Streets Of Gold were others to run well in an open handicap.

Silver Jaro could not match his Cheltenham heroics while Knight Legend appeared to be well in on his chase form, but was beaten from two out.

Non-Runners were Kalderon (stiff) and two reserves (including strongly fancied Leg Spinner).
