Bluestocking (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
Permission was given for Free Wind (IRE), Poptronic (GB), Rue Boissonade (FR) and Sea Of Roses (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
The Starter reported Running Lion (GB) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
John & Thady Gosden were informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that Running Lion (GB) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the filly would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
Approximately 1½ furlongs out, Free Wind (IRE), placed fifth, edged left-handed briefly hampering a weakening Running Lion (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Free Wind (IRE).
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that Bluestocking (GB), placed second, hung right-handed in the final furlong.
